PUERTO NATALES
The capital city of the Patagonian Ultima Esperanza region is Puerto Natales. The only way to reach the north of Chile from here is by sea, as the land routes are impassable. In a city of 18,000 citizens, Croatians stand out among its European populace.
There is a school for special-needs children here called Escuela diferencial Nicolas Mladinic Dobronic, which was founded in 1972, and has around thirty students.
There are four streets with Croatian names in Puerto Natales; Dr. Remigio Sapunar, Dr. Juan Lozic, Vladimiro Boric, and Juan Yutronic.
